Surfline.com forecaster Kevin Wallis gives us a look at what conditions at the beach will be like this week:
Unfortunately, it looks like the morning gloom will continue through the last few days of July and possibly into early August. Expect to see morning low clouds each of the next few days, which will be slow to clear in the afternoons. Beach temps will reach the mid to upper 60s each day, with water temps having recently cooled a bit. North Orange County is seeing water temps in the low to mid 60s, with South Orange County generally a couple of degrees warmer.
Wind will be light Wednesday through Friday mornings, with moderate west wind building each afternoon.
Waves:
A small run of south-southwest swell build in over the second half of the week. Surf sizes will average 2-3′ (knee to waist high) from Wednesday through Friday, with top breaks picking up the occasional wave to 4′ (chest high) on Thursday and Friday when the small swell will be strongest. A slightly larger south-southwest swell is expected as we move through the upcoming weekend. Be sure to stay tuned to Surfline.com for all the latest details on these upcoming swells. Have fun, be safe and we’ll see you out in the water!
